Here are some of the key innovations in BizView 5.0.

Simpler report and form design

We make it even easier to create reports and forms. Controllers or other system administrators themselves can create their own solutions even easier than before. We have specifically made some important things:

• Introducing “IntelliSense” in BizView’s template design tool. This means that a designer easily from available data sources can select the data to be used in reports or data entry forms.
• We add an administration panel on the right side of the design tool, where we bring together all other configuration and settings. Here, a designer e.g. easily link to a report or a form to a selection panel or quickly change color and shape throughout a report.

This opens up and makes it possible for even more people to create and maintain their own solutions in BizView.

BizView Datastore and Integration

We introduce BizView Datastore which is BizView’s standardized data warehouse for storing data. An open and flexible database in SQL Server with built-in functions and intelligence. Datastore has a structure that makes it easy to integrate data into BizView (e.g. so-called ‘staging tables’). It opens up BizView and makes it easier both to fill BizView with data but also use data from BizView in completely different solutions.

‘Weblink reports’

We introduce ‘weblink reports’ which makes it possible to easily incorporate content from websites or other web-based systems in BizView. BizView can act as a unifying portal site for information and functions that allow users to access information. We have also expanded and simplified the possibilities of making the reverse as integrating BizView in portal solutions or in SharePoint. Overall, this opens up BizView for integration with other systems and solutions in a smart way.

New technical features for communication and integration

We introduce ‘BizView Messaging Service’ which simplifies configuration of automatic sending of e-mails and SMS ^*. The opportunities to create customer specific solutions for automatic sending of messages are significantly improved.
Also new is ‘BizView AD Synchronization Service’ which connects BizView’s management of users and groups with the same in Microsoft Active Directory (AD). This means that the access control and login to BizView can be managed centrally using Active Directory.

Support for Swedish, Norwegian and English

We are expanding the language support in BizView to include three languages: Swedish, Norwegian and English. By BizView now available in your local language, we open up BizView for more users and more types of organizations. BizView is also prepared to manage additional languages.

This product vertical is developed together with Råd & Regnskap Akershus (RRA) and will be a joint cooperation between the companies. RRA practical competence has been blended with NCG’s technology edge to shape a product which simplifies and secure the daily work for any accountancy agency. It is fully integrated with Visma Business ERP-system.

The project started over a year ago and was launched and immediately put into production at RRA earlier this year.

We already see how much time BizView Accountancy saves us each month when we prepare the client reports, says Bernt Olav Rønningen, partner at RRA. There are many reporting solutions out there, but no one with the simplicity and at the same time flexibility as we now could offer with BizView. This solution is great both for reporting, budgeting, forecasting and also to reconcile accounts receivable much more efficiently than in Visma Business. The excel look-a-like user interface delivered on a web platform make the users really feel at home from day one, says Rønningen.

BizView Accountancy also comes with a Self Service module which could be used by the clients of the accountancy agency to get the information they need from the system and also for budgeting and forecasting. The Self Service module will be offered as a cloud service on a subscription basis.

Alna Margarinfabrik is a solid traditional company in Oslo, Norway. High quality products have characterized the company since founded in 1938. Here are some of the most important updates in BizView 2013

New design of “my workspace”

Organize and work with reports and input templates in an even easier way than before. Work with multiple reports at the same time, save your selection criteria as favorites, reuse latest selection criteria etc. Save snapshots and file reports in archive folders for the future.

Help instructions for reports and input templates

Designer of reports and input templates can easier than before describe for the end user how to use them. This applies both to how the end user should select data but also what the report contains, or how an input form should be used.

Powerful functionality for coordinated cooperation

BizView 2013 offers a new feature for workflow. It makes it possible to effectively create routines and processes used in e.g. forecasting, budgeting and reporting. This new feature creates an overview of status and provides a completely new control over how various processes are progressing. Everything is stored and logged. Users can also in BizView very efficiently communicate with each other coupled to various steps in the process.

New features to create professional dashboards

You can now create more sophisticated dashboards that combine data from different data sources. In addition to numerous small improvements of all graphical components we have also added the ability to blow up the whole or a part of a normal structured report. Where the user makes filtering in dashboards the inserted reports are also filtered.

Adaption of looks and double login

Now you can, among other things, customize color and shape of the login screen, add your own logo etc. In addition, we have introduced a feature that in addition to normal login forces the user to login with a one-time password sent to user via email or SMS. The purpose of this new feature is to make it easier for those of our partners who offer BizView as a service over the Internet.

Fine tuning of existing functions in BizView

Otherwise, we have worked hard to improve a number of things that our users, consultants and partners have reported. Over 180 small but important improvements have been implemented. Among other things, it is now possible in the report and form designer to do multi-selection, right-click with shortcut menu, easier printing settings etc.
